Wetterhoun history and origins
Ancient Dutch breed from the province of Friesland, used for centuries to hunt otters and waterfowl. The name translates to 'water dog.' Nearly extinct after WWII but preserved through dedicated breeding programs and recognized by FCI as a rare national breed.
Wetterhoun appearance and size
Males typically weigh 25-35 kg and stand 56-64 cm at the shoulder; females 20-30 kg and 52-61 cm.
