Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog history and origins
Ancient breed developed as a premier livestock guardian dog in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, selected for courage and ability to protect flocks from large predators. First breed standard written by Romanian Cynological Association in 1981, provisionally recognized by FCI in 2005.
