Large, powerful, and noble black-coated shepherd dog with short coat, naturally adapted to Mediterranean climate. Known as Ca de Bestiar in its native land, this rustic livestock guardian and herder combines strength and agility with protective instincts.

An ancient breed from the Balearic Islands, used for centuries as a shepherd and livestock guardian. Developed for herding and protecting livestock in Mediterranean conditions. Officially recognized with breed standard in 1980 as 'Ca de Bestiar'.

Males typically weigh 35-40 kg and stand 65-73 cm at the shoulder; females 30-35 kg and 60-68 cm.
