Artois Hound history and origins
Ancient French scenthound from the Artois region dating back to the 15th century, descended from the St. Hubert Hound. Used by nobility for hunting, the breed faced near extinction after World War II but was revived in the 1970s by dedicated breeders following historical standards
Artois Hound appearance and size
Males typically weigh 25-30 kg and stand 53-61 cm at the shoulder; females 23-30 kg and 51-58 cm.

Six to eight tricolour matching Artois hounds constitute a small pack susceptible of giving pleasure to a most demanding huntmaster
